Bobby Carcassés, better known as the Guru of Afro Cuban Jazz, is a multi-instrumentalist, scat master, composer, arranger, illustrator, actor, educator and one time high-jump champion! His influences include such luminaries as Stan Getz, Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Mc Ferrin, Sarah Vaughn, Beny More and Enrico Carusso.

 
He will be making a rare New York appearance, for two nights only, at the Jazz Gallery (290 Hudson Street - off Spring Street) Friday & Saturday, March 24th & 25th: 9 & 10:30 p.m. ($15). Carcasses will be backed up by saxophonist Yosvany Terry, pianist, Osmany Paredes, bass player Yunior Terry, drummer Dafnis Prieto and percussionist, Marvin Diz. Who could ask for more?
